WELCOME TO BEBEE'S CALICO RANCH

Bebee's Calico Prince at 18 months old

Jim and Donna Bebee are the owners of a small family ranch located 10 miles east of Fresno, CA. We raise painted desert sheep which are known for their large horns and exotic color patterns. This website is intended to market painted desert sheep to other breeders and small ranches that just want to enjoy raising these wonderful animals. Our introduction to painted desert sheep was an accident. We had purchased a variety of ewes from different ranches in the area. We bought an American Barbados ram to keep the girls company. As lambs started dropping, we were intrigued by the variety of colors and patterns. After an exhaustive internet search, we realized these sheep had their own society, the Painted Desert Sheep Society  (PDSS). We purchased a registered ram Thor and ewe Hot Springs from Moondust Ranch in the fall of 2007. In the winter of 2008, the son of a PDSS gold class horn ram (Moondust Blackstone) was born at our ranch. Prince now enjoys the company of about half of the ewes.  What started out as a part-time hobby is now a full-time job for Dad. These sheep are on pasture with treats of soy, cracked corn, grain and alfalfa hay. What a life! About half of them will eat from our hands. We currently have a flock of about 10 ewes and a half dozen little ones for sale. Navigate to our Sale Rink and if you don't see what you want, e-mail us and I will see if I can find it for you.
